We exist to proclaim the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ.

The University SDA Church was founded by a small group of Seventh-day Adventist believers among the university staff and students. Established by Pastor A. Walubita in 1980, the church initially worshiped at Munali Secondary School near the University of Zambia (UNZA) Great East Road Campus. The growing membership, consisting mainly of university staff and students, eventually relocated to lecture theatres on the Great East Road Campus. By 1989, the group had grown and was officially organized into the “University of Zambia SDA Church,” with an initial membership of 85.

Over the next 11 years, the church experienced numerous blessings and miracles, including moving to different locations and raising funds for a permanent home. On October 7th, 2000, the church worshipped for the first time at 25210 Katima Mulilo Road, initially in a temporary structure with plans for a larger building. By September 2008, the new church building was completed, and the first music crusade was held, resulting in nine baptisms in the newly constructed baptistery. The church was dedicated on November 30th, 2008.

Since the dedication, the University SDA Church has seen substantial growth in its membership, continuing its mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ within the community. The church has become a vibrant and dynamic part of the neighborhood, with ongoing activities and outreach to share their faith and support the local community.
